Barty Aum Bio |
A veteran of countless bar bands, original projects and other musical endeavors throughout the 70's and mid 80's, I gave up playing altogether in about 1987. It had gotten to the point where it was work and most of the fun and creativity had dried up. It never completely left my mind, I still listened to music obsessively and picked up the guitar once in a while but it was no longer my main focus as it once had been. Then, about four years ago I decided to get back into music on a limited basis. I bought a four track cassette recorder, a new guitar, a keyboard and a drum machine and started writing and recording again. I found that four tracks was not going to be enough so I bought an eight track digital recorder. I don't remember much after that. When I discovered what could be done with digital recording it became a massive obsession and all of my free time was spent writing, recording and learning the ins and outs of engineering and producing music. In that four years I have written and recorded over 100 songs and my cd's are now available on Itunes, Rhapsody, Napster and most major digital services. I am still learning and my recordings are far from perfect but thay are getting better all the time. I play all of the instruments on my cd's and do all the vocals. I have graduated to a 24 track recorder so the possibiklities are endless. My latest project is doing live shows on Second Life-an amazing virtual internet community and I have great hopes of continuing to play live on Second Life and recording new and better music. Second Life has been a great experience and thanks to a few great people there, I now feel I have an excellent chance to be heard and improve my music. |
